We are having a Wacky Wednesday Crazy Hair Day on 22 May to support the Morrinsville Food Bank!

We're asking students to bring in a non-perishable food item on the day to help out a great cause.
|

Get creative with your hair and have some fun - no need to buy anything special, just let your imagination run wild!
|
|
It's all about coming together as a community and showing support for those in need. We can't wait to see everyone's wacky hair creations and make a difference for our local food bank.

Netball Season
|
Our Year 3/4 and Yrs 1/2 play on Wednesdays and Year 5/6 are on Thursdays at Campbell Park Netball Courts.
|
|
Years 1, 2 have no weekly draw, just turn up for your session every Wednesday at 3.30 pm.
|
|

Last Term the Home and School Committee were presented with a $500 cheque from Kevin Deane and Danielle Callaghan of Harcourts Kevin Deane Real Estate.
|
Danielle has been running a promotion where any David Street School Family who lists and sells their property receives a $500 donation to go to the Home and School Committee.
|

EPro8 Semi Final
|
The David Street School Micro Engineers and 4 Engineers teams participated in the EPro8 semi-final event at Marian Catholic School last Friday.
|
|
Both teams delivered impressive performances and had a memorable experience.
|
|
The Micro Engineers secured a 3rd equal position and had to engage in a tie breaker for a chance to advance to the Grand Final later in the term, unfortunately they fell short of qualifying.
|
|
The final standings saw the Micro Engineers in 3rd equal position, while the 4 Engineers secured 9th place. It was a closely contested competition, and both teams displayed commendable teamwork and ingenuity throughout the event.
|

David Street School ANZAC Assembly
|
|
|
|
Last week, we held an ANZAC commemoration assembly at school to pay tribute to and remember the service of those who have served our country. It was a great honour for us to have RSA service personnel present at the assembly. The students demonstrated outstanding respect throughout the ceremony as they listened to tributes from their peers and our special guests. As a symbol of remembrance, each class had created wreaths, a representative from each class laid wreaths under our flagpole.
