Easter Tuesday 2nd April - School Holiday

The school term and holiday dates are usually arranged so that Easter falls within the term 1 school holidays, Easter Tuesday is often overlooked as it is a School holiday, not a statutory holiday.
However, there are instances, like this year, when Easter falls much earlier than usual outside of term holidays.
Therefore, in addition to Good Friday (March 29th) and Easter Monday (April 1st), school will be closed on Tuesday, April 2nd,

Care For Kids - After School Care Programme

EPro8

The EPro8 Challenge is an inter-school science and engineering competition. These events are designed to promote science, engineering, and problem-solving.
Teams of 4 compete against one another in various technological and engineering challenges.
This year we had 12 teams participate in our school finals events, with the top 2 placed teams making it through to the next round.

Congratulations to our top two teams:
DSS Micro Mechanics (Adrian Partridge, Mac Loveridge, Grace Clark, and Isla Scott)
DSS 4Engineers (Lauren Kennedy, Curtis Page, Phoenix Ward, and Eli Galloway).
Both of these teams will represent David Street School at Morrinsville Intermediate next week, with the aim of making the Semi-final and Grand Final next term.

All teams performed incredibly well and displayed great collaborative and thinking skills. They should all be very proud of their efforts.

Museum Trip

As part of Middle school's learning around ‘Navigation and Exploration,’ each class is visiting the Morrinsville Museum this week.
They will be looking at different ways people have navigated in the past and also see how Museums communicate their ideas by displaying artefacts.
