Morrinsville Lions Club’s Generous Support
The Morrinsville Lions Club, supported by Tatua Dairy Company and suppliers, have yet again shown their commitment to the children of David Street School, along with all Morrinsville schools, by donating funds raised from their collection of casualty calves.
Their generous donation of $3,000 to David Street School will be used to purchase sporting equipment that will extend sporting opportunities offered once our new sports turf is completed in the coming months.
Many will remember that last year’s donation was used to purchase EPro. The impact this has had on our senior students was reported to the Lions Club and they look forward to hearing about the difference this year’s donation will have made in the coming years. It really does take a village to raise a child.

Join us for a Wacky Wednesday
We are having a Wacky Wednesday Crazy Hair Day on 22 May to support the Morrinsville Food bank!
We're asking students to bring in a non-perishable food item on the day to help out a great cause.
Get creative with your hair and have some fun - no need to buy anything special, just let your imagination run wild!
It's all about coming together as a community and showing support for those in need. We can't wait to see everyone's wacky hair creations and make a difference for our local food bank.

Thank You Wise Family
Last Term the Home and School Committee were presented with a $500 cheque from Kevin Deane and Danielle Callaghan of Harcourts Kevin Deane Real Estate.
Danielle has been running a promotion where any David Street School Family who lists and sells their property receives a $500 donation to go to the Home and School Committee.
Pictured are Kevin Deane and Danielle Callaghan from Harcourts Kevin Deane Real Estate presenting the cheque to Asher, Atarah, Rachel and Jeremy Wise (who have recently sold their property), and Rebecca Pritchard from our Home & School Committee. The Home and School Committee will target the money for their Playground Fundraiser. Thank you, Wise family!
A big THANK YOU to Danielle Callaghan from Harcourts Morrinsville for her continued support of David Street School. The students, staff, Home & School and community of David Street School appreciate the wonderful donation.

Thank You Home & School
Last term the Home and School Committee donated money to each classroom to spend on fun resources. Thank you Home and School and thank you to everyone who supports their fundraisers.
"Room 19 would like to thank the Home and School Committee for their generous donation to our classroom. We have spent our money on blue pads (which are magnetic drawing boards), ingredients for our Easter baking, and vegetables for our class garden. Thank you!"

Room 17
At the end of Term One, Room 17 were lucky enough to have a helper come and help them plant some new bulbs in the garden at the end of Room 18.
All the students excitedly dug holes and placed them in the ground. We are looking forward to seeing what comes up in the Spring.
Thank you to Mary Scherer for giving up your time to come and help our New entrants learn some exciting things about the garden and planting bulbs.
