Tomorrow is our final Pizza Lunch for the term. Pizza orders have now closed.

The last week of term we have Cookie Friday. If you have not already ordered your child a cookie for next Friday and you wish to, pop on to our Home and School Shop and place your order.

Support the Home and School raise money for Outdoor Playground Spaces at school and save on everything you love to do.

Yummy Stickers
Keep collecting your Yummy Stickers so our school can be in to win a share of sports
gear. Our kids benefit and the school saves so much money from the collection of stickers.
|
|
Collect the individual Yummy apple stickers and cut-out labels on Yummy apple bags or punnet barcodes. Then bring them along to school so we can be in to get a share of $200,000 worth of sports gear!
|
|
Stickers need to be in to school by the end of this term so we can collate them and send them off.
|
|

Principal Awards

Cruze received his award for being a risk taker in his learning, he is always taking on challenges and wanting to push his learning limits. Cruze has a positive can-do attitude towards his learning. It has been such a pleasure to see this foster as the year has progressed.
|
|
Lucas received his award for being such a respectful learner, and always bringing a positive attitude to everything he does. Lucas always approaches his learning with enthusiasm, and completes everything he does to the best of his ability. He is an absolute joy to have in Room 15!
|
|
Beau received his award for showing excellence and self awareness with his writing. He writes like an author and is always excited to share his interesting ideas. Ka pai, Beau!
|
|
Ellie always strives to reach the next goal. She has stretched herself this year and made accelerated progress in every area of learning. Ellie keep aiming high and you will reach the stars!
|
Lucas has had huge growth in all areas of school life. He wants to take part in everything that he can, pushing himself out of his comfort zone, all while displaying our David Street School values consistently. Well done Lucas!

|
Skylaa received her award for displaying a positive attitude in all areas of her learning. She is a self-aware learner who is always looking for ways to improve on and upgrade her writing, and because of this she has had phenomenal improvement this year.
|

|
Graysn always demonstrates our David Street School values. He shows respect to his teachers and peers and shows excellence in all areas of school. He always tries to push himself to be the best he can be. Keep up the great work Graysn!

Brody received his award for being an enthusiastic, happy learner who always gives 100% to all areas of learning. Brody is a great listener and a year 1 role model.
|
|
Kora-Jayd received her award for being a confident Mathematician who shows herself to be a curious learner who always tries her best. Kora’s positive attitude and willingness to give everything a go shows real Kia Maia! Well done Kora!
|
Jack received his award for living and breathing our school values and encouraging others to do the same. Jack perseveres with his learning. He has a curious mind and asks lots of inquisitive questions. Jack can always be relied on to make good, honest, choices that he knows will help him to learn.
|
|
Adam received his award for all round excellence in all he does! Not only does he push himself at school with all his learning, he follows it up at home. It is great see Adam smashing his goals!
|
Rebecca works towards excellence each and every day! She gives everything 100% and is a very talented writer. We love watching Rebecca grow in confidence in the classroom and share her knowledge with others.

Reading with Rotary Awards
|
Morrinsville Rotary Club and Paper Plus Morrinsville kindly sponsor prizes to promote reading in our school and other local schools.
Each term a student from the junior, middle and senior school will be awarded a prize for significant reading progress. The recipients of this award receive a voucher to buy a book at Paper Plus and a certificate.

Yuri is growing in confidence in her reading. She has developed a positive attitude towards reading and she has made some fantastic progress this term
Middle School: Braxton Keoghan
|
Braxton always has a positive attitude towards reading. He wants to learn and discuss the book he is reading. It is awesome seeing Braxton's progression this year!
Senior School: Brandon Man
|
|
Brandon has a positive can-do attitude towards reading. It’s been great seeing him look forward to reading and this has had a massive impact on Brandon's progress this term.

Cost per day is HALF DAY - (5hrs or less) $33.75
FULL DAY - (over 5hrs) $45.00

- If you are wanting a place for your child please book now to avoid disappointment or contact Pia asap for these dates 0273 691 263
- Please be aware once your child’s enrolment is confirmed you will be charged if they are absent unless we have received a minimum of a weeks’ notice of change.
- We MUST have a completed Safety Form completed on EnrolMy with emergency contacts, pick up persons and any medical conditions we need to be aware of. If we do not hold this information, then unfortunately your child will not be able to attend.

The Hockey competition finished last week. Well done to all teams, you played so well this season. Thank you to coaches and managers, we really appreciate your support.

Matamata-Piako District Council Survey
|
Matamata-Piako District Council are working with your school and Traffic Planning Consultants (TPC) to create a School Travel Plan to help make it safer and easier for students to walk, bike or scoot to school. The School Travel Plan will identify current issues/concerns and barriers to children walking, biking and scooting to school and aims to provide safer solutions alongside encouraging behavioural changes to continue making these solutions safe for the long term.
|
We invite you to fill in the survey below so we are able to analyse current data and safety concerns. Survey closes Friday 22nd September.

Although there is no budget allocated to making physical improvements at this stage, we are working with interested schools to make positive behavioural changes which will improve immediate safety and wellbeing and to make a plan so we are ready to take action when funding becomes available.

The Matamata-Piako Libraries have another exciting offering of free school holiday activities in all of our libraries coming up at the end of this term. These school holidays we have themed our activities around stories of fantasy and creative storytelling. Join in the fun these school holidays.
|

Have-a-Go Swimming
We are excited to announce our free Have-a-Go swimming carnivals for primary aged children, aimed at supporting the progression from our water safety education program into club swimming.
Working with our Member Swimming Clubs, Swimming Waikato would like to ensure those children who have developed water safety knowledge have the opportunity to connect with their local clubs, with the aim of offering further aquatic opportunities.

|
Have-a-Go’s are designed to cater for all different levels of swimming ability and to ensure all participants have a fun swimming experience. Kids will also be able to have-a-go at some short races where they will receive a participation ribbon and their official time. All participants will also receive a Swimming Waikato Sports Bag filled with 'Your Next Stroke's' support and plenty more.
