Kapa Haka Whānau Evening
Kia ora whānau, ngā mihi nui ki a koutou. Thank you to our over 450 whanau members who came to tautoko our junior and senior kapahaka groups last Thursday evening. Our 140 tamariki who performed were the stars of the evening. Parents and kaumatua generously commented on the beauty of their waiata, the precision of their actions, the pronunciation of their reo, and the passion of their haka. Noticed also was the teamwork and mahi of the staff who entertained and fed so many. We had a wonderful evening. Thank you.

Room 13 were learning about volcanoes as part of our science concept change. Here is an amazing piece of writing from Zoe:
"What was that n-noise? I have a bad feeling about this.. the biggest volcano on earth is bigger than Mount Everest! But where is the biggest volcano located? Well, surprisingly it is not on Earth!
It's located on the red planet Mars! Woah Woah Woah wait a minute but if it is on Mars how can we find it? Did you know that some volcanoes are under water? Crazy right.
I wonder how many miles can ash go?
